Apprentice Nursery Practitioner

Job Description

Brookside Academy Nursery are excited to offer an opportunity for an enthusiastic and caring individual to join us as an Apprentice Nursery Practitioner. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about working with young children and eager to begin a rewarding career in Early Years.

37 hours per week (Monday – Friday), All Year Round

Salary: £7.55 - £12.21 per hour, depending on age

Fixed-Term Contract to align with completion of the apprenticeship

The Role

As an apprentice, you’ll learn on the job while working alongside our experienced and supportive nursery team. You will:

  • Support the team in planning and delivering fun, age‑appropriate activities following the EYFS framework
  • Help create a safe, nurturing and engaging environment for all children
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues
  • Assist with observing and recording children’s development as part of your training
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and self‑esteem
  • Help maintain high standards of hygiene, safety and care throughout the nursery

You will receive dedicated training time each week and support from a qualified mentor to help you achieve your Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship.

  • Able to communicate well with both children and adults
  • Committed to completing a Level 3 Early Years apprenticeship

Previous experience is not essential - what matters most is your positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to the role.

You must have a good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSE or equivalent desirable) or be willing to work towards these as part of the apprenticeship programme.
