Welcome to Lily Housing Project, where we provide our young residents with a space to grow with confidence, enhance their self-esteem and develop the life skills required to live independently.

In this role you will form part of the team who are dedicated and professional to support 16-21 years old's in the Ferndown, Dorchester & Weymouth areas in our supported housing environment.

We support our young people 356 days a year, 24 hours a day. Therefore this position includes:

  • 4 shifts a week to include 2 sleep-ins.
  • Weekend work.

Location: Yeovil, Weymouth, Dorchester & Ferndown

Job Type: Full-time 33hrs, Permanent

Salary:

  • 33-hour contract: £23,909.60 - £24,939.20 (including sleep-in rate)
  • Hourly rate range £11.60 – £12.20 (dependent on experience)
  • Sleep-in rate £55.00

 As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide support in daily living skills to help promote independence, such as advice and support on personal hygiene, house cleaning, cooking, healthy eating, social skills, emotional issues, drug and alcohol issues, resident disputes, and education. In accordance with resident’s support plan and issues discussed at relevant multi-agency meetings.
  • To engage with our residents daily and offer support when needed.
  • Review support plants to make sure standards are being met.
  • Liaise with other appropriate services, acting as advocate and support for individuals to ensure they receive appropriate support services.
  • To take residents shopping, to appointments i.e. doctors, care reviews, job centre appointments, etc.
  • Help and support residents to prepare meals and snacks.
  • Support residents keep their home clean and tidy.
  • Undertake regular property inspection and room checks liaising with environmental officer.

About You:

  • You are passionate about making a difference in supported accommodation.
  • Ideally you will have experience in a supported accommodation setting and hold, or are working towards, a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  •  However, we welcome those new to the field who can demonstrate a strong passion towards improving young people's lives and a desire to develop a vocation in support work.
  • You are reliable, compassionate, and have excellent communication skills.
  • A driving license is required.
