Job Description

Stanchester Academy is seeking an enthusiastic Art/DT Teacher to join our team on a part‑time (0.8) basis. This maternity cover position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire and engage students in KS3 and KS4, nurturing their creativity, confidence and practical skills.

About the Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high‑quality teaching in Art and Design Technology at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Plan and prepare engaging lessons that inspire creativity and curiosity.
  • Assess, record and report on students’ progress and attainment.
  • Create a positive, safe and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support high‑quality teaching and learning across the department.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and foster positive relationships with students, colleagues and families.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has strong subject knowledge in Art and/or Design Technology.
  • Demonstrates effective behaviour management skills.
  • Is confident with ICT and classroom technologies (e.g., interactive whiteboards).
  • Is reflective, innovative and passionate about supporting all students to achieve.
