Your CV may be currently blank or 40-45 years ago you were a shorthand typist and not worked since! All I need initially is that you are fairly fit, can spell and can use a computer.
You will be home based and initially part-time and paid as a sub-contractor earning £100 a day/part day.
Initially you will accompany me on surveys. For asbestos you will looking in those places where suspect asbestos materials are likely to be found, taking a photograph of the material and learning how to take a sample, using simple hand tools -usually a chisel.
For a Fire risk assessment, you will be examining the escape routes and possible hazards on those routes.
You will learn how to enter your findings on a computer and produce reports on your findings for our customers.
So, one day it will be a house that our customer wants to buy, or a factory and other business premises. In the last week I have been checking on a small block of flats, an HMO, a property that is being refurbished for future letting, and finally for a week a bed and breakfast/ café. Next week so far, I have a lovely Georgian house that is being totally refurbished in Sherborne, a 16-bed nursing home and an HMO. in Weymouth.
In time you will be working on your own and submitting reports to me for approval and by the end of the year you will be competent enough to gain your P402 qualification which we will pay for.
Estimated income as a qualified surveyor will be in the range of £25,000 to £45,000.
