Job Description

We are a growing asbestos services company working across the South West, providing both asbestos surveying and removal solutions. Due to continued success, we are now recruiting for a Trainee Asbestos Operative & Surveyor to join our team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in both asbestos surveying and removal, with full in-house training provided.

Location: South West (Hybrid Remote – Martock TA12 6DE)
Starting salary: From £28,000 per year

Role Overview

As a Trainee Asbestos Operative & Surveyor, you will:

  • Assist with and carry out asbestos surveys, including management, refurbishment, and demolition
  • Prepare accurate reports and survey plans
  • Support licensed asbestos removal projects under the supervision of experienced operatives
  • Ensure all works are delivered safely, professionally, and in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and contractors
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times

Key Responsibilities 

  • Conduct asbestos surveys and site walkthroughs
  • Create and submit detailed reports
  • Work under the guidance of the Asbestos Removal Supervisor on-site
  • Comply with company policies, method statements, and risk assessments
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time
  • Maintain strict adherence to asbestos and health & safety legislation

  • Good IT, literacy, and numeracy skills
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility with working hours (occasional weekends required)
  • A full, clean driving licence

Previous asbestos experience is an advantage but not essential — full training will be provided.
